The Venturing A-L-P-S program model provides a framework for a dynamic program of Adventure, Leadership, Personal Growth, and Service. It is grounded in a flexible program of continuous, youth-led adventure, with the recognition system providing Venturers with benchmarks of progress. The following training courses are those training opportunities for each award level.
As you may know, VenturingFest 2018 will be held at the Summit Bechtel Reserve from July 1st-6th, 2018 to celebrate Venturing’s 20th birthday! Join us for quick access to the latest activities at the Summit, social events with Venturers from across the nation, an incredible birthday celebration, and the opportunity of a lifetime!
These trainings, while not required for the core Venturing awards program, provide more advanced skills in more specialized focuses. After taking Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews (ILSC), Venturers may continue on to take National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT), National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE), among many others.
Trained leaders impact the quality of programs, leader tenure, youth tenure, safety, and a whole lot more. A trained leader is better prepared to make the Scouting program all it can be! All adults involved in Venturing are required to take Youth Protection Training; in addition, there are many recommended position-specific trainings for Advisors and Crew Committee members.
The PowerPoint presentations compiled in this Toolbox were created by Venturers, for Venturers. They are supplementary trainings used to enhance the program, and are not required. They are simply here as a resource for you to build upon as you train your unit, committee, VOA, and more!
